Our meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Questions? Email us

Curious about what happens at a PFLAG meeting? Perhaps you are a little shy about attending? I know I was. I will try to walk you through the logistics of one of our meetings.
We gather on the second Tuesday of each month at the First United Methodist Church, on SW 18th and Jefferson Street. {map it} There is a Max stop right there. There is a little Sandwich board that says PFLAG on it by the outside door. (It is easiest to enter from the West side of the back parking lot) There is a welcome table right by the door with someone there to greet you, and give you a name tag if you desire one.

We have a very brief announcement period starting at 7:05. At this time we go over some general housekeeping details and any announcements of upcoming events that may be of interest to our members. Then we have a guest speaker until 7:45PM. This is usually a speaker or a panel discussion, or perhaps a new video to our library. Next some social time.
We then break into smaller groups of about 10 or 12 and go into adjoining class rooms for "rap" groups. At this time we share some of our stories or concerns with the group. No one is required to talk, listening is always acceptable.
We try not to give advice, but encouragement is the best gift we have to offer one another.
At 8:45pm we return to the larger group to adjourn, as we must be gone by 9:00pm sharp.
The meetings very friendly, helpful and totally non-threatening. We hope you will join us.
